Cinema Centrale Arthouse has enchanted for some time now Turin’s movie-goers with exquisite choices, and this time they elected Woody Allen’s latest gem – “Cafe Society” (2016) – to headline their schedule for an entire week. Thus, one can enjoy the original English version of Allen’s newest schlemiel story from September 29th to October 5th, 2016.
In the 1930s, a young Bronx native (Jesse Eisenberg) moves to Hollywood, where he falls in love with the secretary (Kristen Stewart) of his powerful uncle (Steve Carell), an agent to the stars. After returning to New York, he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life. Nevertheless, a Woody Allen movie, i.e. a soft comedy-drama, with the usual idiosyncrasies and malentendus.
